The goal of the Norton Center For The Arts Student Matinee Series is to provide teachers and students with a performing arts journey into global cultures and history, while supplying educators with curriculum guides specifically created for the performance or program that meet national and state standards for lessons in Music, Arts-Humanities, History and/or Social Studies – responding to the decrease in classroom focus on these subject areas. Because we know and appreciate how important it is to plan and identify field trips as educational experiences, we provide curriculum connections and activities related to these shows.

The Norton Center’s Arts for the Classroom Ticket Subsidy (ACTS) program provides FREE or deeply discounted matinee tickets to qualifying public schools, allowing area students the opportunity to engage with acclaimed international artists without leaving Central Kentucky.
