Executive Director

Steve became Executive Director of the Norton Center in July 2010. Before that, he served as President and CEO of the National Steinbeck Center in Monterey County, California, an international cultural institution with a mission focused on the life, works and philosophies of John Steinbeck. Prior to that, Hoffman spent eleven years as the first CEO of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science, in Sioux Falls, SD. There, he led the multi-disciplinary cultural institution's Kirby Science Discovery Center and Omnimax-type theater; seven gallery Visual Arts Center; and Husby Performing Arts Center with its 1900- and 300-seat theaters. Steve's recent professional accomplishments include co-chairing the 2009 and 2010 Association of Performing Arts Presenters' annual national conferences, serving on the California Association of Museums' board of directors and speaking at regional and national conferences. Steve is very happy to be in Danville.

Art Director

Since 2007 Dana has held the position of Director of Publications, in charge of designing projects for the Norton Center as well as other departments of Centre College. During her tenure, she has received numerous regional ADDY awards as well as a CASE award for her design work. Dana worked for 16 years as an Associate Graphic Art Director for Host Communications (presently IMG World), a company that provides sports marketing services for several NCAA Division I universities and athletic conferences. At Host, Dana art directed and produced design projects for many institutions including the University of Kentucky, Villanova University, the University of Georgia, Maryland University, etc, as well as for conferences like the SEC, Metro - Atlantic, Big 12, and Midwestern Collegiate. She is a Fine Arts graduate and has exhibited her work in Romania, Italy, and Washington, D.C..

Sharon Rogers-Hinkle

Sharon is a 28 year veteran of the Norton Center, joining the college in 1983. In 1990, she single-handedly implemented the computerized ticketing system and worked with LoGograph and Tickets.com in New York (Norton Center's software representative) to setup internet ticket sales. Under Sharon's management the Norton Center's box office was nominated for BOX OFFICE OF THE YEAR in 1997 by the International Ticketing Association. Sharon traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to represent the Norton Center against top box offices throughout the United Stated and abroad. The Norton Center placed third against two other organizations, one being the Centennial Olympic Park, which placed first as the 1996 sponsor of the Summer Olympics. Sharon is blessed to have a wonderful husband and family, and to be part of the Centre College community.

Brittany Duvall

Box Office Assistant

Brittany is thrilled to be joining the Norton Center staff! In 2009, she graduated from Campbellsville University working in music, art, and theatre. She performed in many operas, original musicals, and plays and choreographed every production in the three years she was there. Her heart belongs to musical theatre, and she has been blessed to perform in many shows. Among her favorites are, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Sally), The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo), and Nunsense (Sister Mary Hubert). Brittany is blissfully married to Dustin, and they have a bouncing baby boy named Sawyer.

Engagement Coordinator

Dustin joined the Norton Center staff as Engagement Coordinator in July 2011. He is excited to step into the newly created position and be the first to help establish this role. Dustin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.A. in Theater and obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Eastern Kentucky University. Previously, Dustin served as a secondary school educator who taught Arts & Humanities and Drama. Dustin, his wife Joy, and son Dusty feel very welcomed by the local community.

Business / Office Manager

Karen joined the Norton Center team in February of 1999. Before that, she retired with twenty years of service in the United States Air Force. She, her husband and their three children moved to Danville after visiting family and falling in love with Kentucky and the area. While at the Norton Center, her duties have included assisting the box office, processing and maintaining the Norton Center calendar, and processing purchase orders, bills, deposits and credit card statements. Karen also coordinates outside events at the Norton Center including Centre College activities, weddings, conferences and meetings. Karen received her degree in Business Management from Texas Lutheran University while serving in the military.

Technical Director

Mark is responsible for the technical needs, including lighting, sets, sound, props and costumes, of every performance. Many touring productions bring everything they need for their performance at the Norton Center, some send ahead lighting and set diagrams to be executed with Norton Center materials and some depend on the Norton Center to design these elements completely. De Araujo uses a crew of students for much of the setup and running of each show, providing an educational opportunity for them to gain professional experience in technical areas of the arts. De Araujo holds a B.F.A. from the University of Florida and an M.A. from Indiana University. He has designed and done tech work for the Brown County Playhouse, the Hippodrome Theatre, and Raintree Harvest dance troop. He worked as Assistant Technical Director for the Theatre Department at Indiana University before joining the Norton Center and the Centre Faculty in 1979.

Sean Fetherston
Assistant Technical Director

Sean joined the Norton Center in August 2011. A graduate of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Sean worked for Westminster's Emma Eccles-Jones Conservatory as a stagehand and carpenter, taking part in all main stage productions by designing lights and sound for the black box and concert hall venues. He served as apprentice carpenter at the Pioneer Theatre Company, a regional playhouse in Salt Lake City, and recently returned from two months in Naknek, Alaska where he worked for Leader Creek Fisheries during salmon season.
