He also studied the Nyamakala tradition of circus\, practiced by the Fula people of West Africa. He eventually joined Guinea’s original circus company\, Circus Baobob\, with whom he toured Africa and Europe.   \nIn the early 2000’s\, Yamoussa was recruited to come to Canada with Cirque Eloize\, a Montreal based Canadian cirque company.  While in Canada he also performed with Cirque du Soleil and Cavalia (cirque with horses).  In 2007\, Yamoussa realized his dream and opened his own company\, Kalabanté Productions\, in Montreal\, Canada. He recruited many of his extended family members to join the company\, including his twin sisters\, brothers\, and cousins.  \nThe company began doing shows in Quebec\, and over the years expanded to all of Canada\, the USA and now performs worldwide.  In 2018\, Kalabanté opened their own studio and school in Montreal\, offering classes in African dance\, cirque\, and drumming.  \nKalabanté Productions is proud to be able to share their work\, achievements and skills to inspire others and to assist with the humanitarian mission to help the Guinean community from which Yamoussa and many of his company members come. [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”THE TEAM” tab_id=”1728055805514-b1a2d73e-bae1″][vc_column_text font_family=”Copernicus”]Yamoussa Bangoura – Founder of Kalabanté Productions\, juggler\, singer\, kora player\, wheel artist\, acrobat and dancer. \nMama Adama Soumah – contortionist\, dancer \nMmahawa Soumah – contortionist\, dancer \nMohamed Ben Sylla – contortionist \nAlya Sylla – acrobat \nIsmael Bangoura – acrobat \nAlseny Camara – acrobat \nYamoussa Soumah – acrobat \nMoussa Youla – acrobat \nSeuss Fu-Rubin – saxophone \nAbdelhak Benmedjebari – bass \nKevin T Jones – drums \nChloé Drolet – Technical Manager \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”SOCIAL MEDIA” tab_id=”1728057125735-d94e36f6-5a57″]FacebookInstagram[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row remove_bottom_col_margin=”true” local_scroll_id=”h1″ el_id=”Tickets”][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row remove_bottom_col_margin=”true” local_scroll_id=”h1″ css=”.vc_custom_1689962444644{margin-bottom: 80px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/NqgWWX6_P84″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row remove_bottom_col_margin=”true” el_id=”accessibility” css=”.vc_custom_1689962483149{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column]ACCESSIBILITYPlease note that the Norton Center is a historic venue with limited accessible seating.
