LUEDJI LUNA

Latin Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Luedji Luna has become one of the most powerful voices in contemporary Brazilian music. A Brazilian music sensation, Luedji dives into her ancestry and brings powerful messages of resistance, beliefs, depth and love through her art. In this performance, Luna will share her music of Brazil and its people, exploring sounds like neo-soul, R&B, jazz and reggae.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Singer-songwriter LUEDJI LUNA was born in Salvador and studied music at Escola Baiana de Canto Popular. At the age of 34, she has released two albums, been nominated for several awards, and has become a reference in contemporary Brazilian popular music (MPB). An active voice in racial and feminist activism, Luedji dives into her ancestry and brings in her art powerful messages of resistance, beliefs, depth, and love.  

She released her first album Um Corpo no Mundoin 2017, which established her in the national scene and yielded the first highlights in awards, festivals and media. In 2021, apart from having her first child, she also gave birth to the album Bom Mesmo É Estar Debaixo D’água, which, among many global nominations and chart-topping successes, was also nominated for “Best MPB Album” at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards. In November 2022, she released the Deluxe version of Bom Mesmo É Estar Debaixo D’água as a B-Side to the previous version, with 10 unreleased songs. 

The singer has also participated in globally recognized music projects, such as Colors and Tiny Desk with Afropunk.
